Priv.-Doz. Dr. Matthias Landgraf is CEO and founder of evias and private lecturer at Graz University of Technology as well as University of Applied Sciences in St. Pölten. He is a member of the scientific steering group of Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking, a body of the European Union.

From 2011 to 2023, he was responsible for project management, research, and teaching at the Graz University of Technology, Institute of Railway Engineering and Transport Economics. In addition, he expanded his commercial expertise during his three-year tenure as authorized officer at the engineering firm BM Ing. Landgraf GmbH.

- Habilitation (venia docendi) at Graz University of Technology, 09/2022
- Research stays at UC Berkeley, CA (2019) and ETH Zürich, CH (2021)
- PhD at Graz University of Technology with honours, 11/2016. The methods developed have since been implemented at various European railway infrastructure managers such as ÖBB (Austria), SBB (Switzerland), ProRail (Netherlands) and BaneNor (Norway).
- Best Paper Awards at World Congress of Railway Research (WCRR), 2019 in Tokyo and at Conference of International Heavy Haul Association (IHHA), 2017 in Kapstadt
- Forschungspreis 2017 of FSV (The Austrian Research Association for Roads, Railways and Transport) and VCÖ Mobilitätspreis 2019 as part of consortium „Hytrail“
- Lead Author within 2nd Austrian Assessment Report Climate Change.
